Center Gives Free Wigs to Cancer Patients and Burn Victims
Omaha(KPTM)-Cancer is a battle many win, but often those being treated for the disease lose their hair. Now there's a resource for those looking for a way to boost confidence and self-esteem during and after treatment. The Nebraska Medical Center's wig bank at its Life Renewal Center located inside the Village Pointe Cancer Center is offering free wigs for those in need. More than a hundred wigs have been donated to help those who have lost their hair either through cancer or a traumatic injury.The Life Renewal Center is open Monday through Friday from 8a.m. to 4p.m..Wig fitting appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The center is also accepting donations of new and gently used wigs.Other services like yoga, meditation, educational sessions and skin care products are also available at the center.
