Creighton Bluejays Advance to Take on Duke

OMAHA (KPTM) - It is going to be the battle of the blue andwhite on Sunday when the Creighton Bluejays take on the Duke Blue Devils in thethird round of NCAA tournament.

The Bluejays advance after beating the Cincinnati Bearcats67-63 in the second round of the NCAA tournament in Philadelphia, PA.

Junior forward Doug McDermott who finished the day with adouble double of 27 points and 11 rebounds led the Bluejays. He also broke hisown single-season score record.

Creighton struggled early committing five turnovers in thefirst five minutes. But the Bluejays were able to keep it close with some highpercentage shooting; they were 45.2 percent for the game.

The Bluejays were up by five at the half. However, late inthe game the Bearcats tied the game up at 54 with about three minutes left inthe game. Creighton would retake the lead and hold on to a six-point lead withjust over a minute left in the game. In the end Austin Chatman drained a freethrow with 3.6 seconds left on the clock to give the Bluejays the victory.
