OMAHA (KPTM) - The Gomez family was out for a bicycle ride on Saturday afternoon. Anthony Gomez tells Fox 42 News he saw a white pickup truck hit his 10-year-old daughter who was riding her bike. He says the truck then took off.
"I looked back this way and I saw my daughter in the street and I saw the back of the truck backing up and down so I knew it had just ran her over, ran her bike over," he said.
His daughter, Mya, walked away with bumps and bruises. Sunday you could see bruises on her arms, legs, and head. She was not taken to the hospital.
"I saw him look back with his window down and he took off," Mya said.
Anthony believes he has seen the truck working on the roof of his neighbor's house. However, he was not able to get a license plate number off of the truck.
Gomez tells Fox 42 News this accident is a good reason for adding speed bumps to his street. With so many kids in the area he said it would help slow down cars and allow his kids to play safely.
"People come flying up and down the street. 25 miles per hour and they are doing 45 miles per hour, there is no speed bumps on this street," he said.
