Fight, Shoplifter Trigger Scares in Omaha Malls

      OMAHA (KPTM) - A fight at Westroads Mall and a shoplifter at Oakview created a scare for "Black Friday" shoppers early Friday morning.

      The Omaha Police Department says officers were called to Westroads for a possible shots fired at about 1am.

      Police say a fight broke out and a sign was knocked over, which made people think a gun had been fired.

      One man was arrested for disorderly conduct.

      At about 2:45am, Omaha police were called to Oakview for a potential gun being fired. Police say a woman was caught shoplifting.

      She pepper-sprayed two security guards and an employee. The disturbance created a panic and people thought a gun had been fired.

      That woman was arrested for assault, disorderly conduct, shoplifting and three misdemeanor warrants.
