NU Football Picks Up Two Dozen Recruits For Upcoming Season

LINCOLN (KPTM) - The Nebraska football team announced Wednesday at a Signing Day news conference it has picked up 24 recruits for the upcoming season.

"It was a team effort to put together this class," said Husker Coach Bo Pelini.

That effort brought together a bundle of national talent, including four offensive linemen and three defensive ends.

"We look at guys not just for what they are now, but what they can be three or four years down the road," said Pelini.

Pelini said Wednesday every athlete will get the chance to compete for a job, including the 18 walk-ons also coming aboard.

"It's not about the one guy here or the stars or anything else. It's about fielding a great football team to win championships."

It's a goal Coach Pelini hopes is a little easier now that his crew has experience in the Big Ten.

"Now that we have three years behind us in the conference we have a little better idea."
