Large Storm With Damaging Winds, Lightning, Potential Flash Flooding in Omaha
OMAHA (KPTM) - Storms with very heavy winds, heavy rain, and hail moved through the Omaha Metro Sunday night. A tornado warning went into effect around 7pm, with people being urged to take shelter West of 144th Street.Reports of downed trees started coming in around 7:30, flash flooding was also seen throughout the area. Thousands were without power after the worst of the storm moved through. Lightning strikes were also reported, it is not clear if any lightning strikes caused fires, but several fires reported as the storm moved through.Tornadoes were either seen near or confirmed to have touched down in the towns of Raymond, Ceresco and Davey earlier in the evening.
