OMAHA (KPTM)- Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel proposed historic cuts to the U.S. Military including downsizing the Army to the lowest amount of full time soldiers in 74 years.
"I hope they are making the right decision because it 's dangerous out there," said John Liebsack, former Veterans of Foreign Wars State Commander.
"We've got the finest military in the world, but it will be restricted," said Liebsack, who served in the army in Korea during the Viet Nam conflict.
"We are repositioning to focus on the strategic challenges and opportunities that will define our future," said Hagel.
Cuts are expected to hit the Army National Guard as well.
