Nebraska Game and Parks Allows Hunting of Mountain Lions

Lincoln (KPTM) - The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission unanimously decides to allow the hunting of mountain lions across most of Nebraska.

Next year when you go to purchase a lottery you will be able to select one for cougars.

In the Pine Ridge, near Whiteclay, Nebraska, there will be two small seasons between January and March. A total of four cougars will be able to be killed for sport, two male and two female.

In areas where the large feline predator doesn't raise kittens, year-round hunting is also okay with permit, come next year.

This is the first time in Nebraska history that the Game and Parks Commission included mountain lions for game.
