UPDATE: Wednesday morning deputies identified the victim as 64-year-old Patricia Kinkade-Dorsey of Atlantic, Iowa.
POTTAWATTAMIE COUNTY (KPTM)- Pottawattamie County deputies are searching an Oakland home to find out what could have led up to a deadly shooting.
Pottawattamie County Sheriff Jeff Danker said the 63-year-old owner of the home was taken into custody Tuesday morning after an early morning standoff with officers. According to Pottawattamie County Jail records the man is 63-year-old Robert Reynolds who was also listed as the owner of the home. Deputies said he was being uncooperative as law enforcement from the Iowa State Patrol and Council Bluffs Police tried to secure his home.
When officers did secure the home, Danker said they found a 64-year-old woman who died from a gunshot wound. Danker said the woman could have been a family friend or an acquaintance. She is from rural Cass County, Iowa.
Danker said the man's wife and a child were at the home at the time.
Reynolds is charged with murder.
