By: Melina MatthesMMatthes@kptm.comOMAHA (kptm) - A new store in Millard is targeted. A crook is caught on camera trying to break into a small business that was opened just last year. Investigators said the criminal planned his attack. Now Omaha police are asking for your help identifying the vandal. Police believe the crook intended to break the glass. In the surveillance video, you can see him pull rock after rock out of his pocket. The owner has since covered the damage with several stickers but he said he wants this guy caught."I was awestruck when I found out." Police are looking for the man shown above, caught on camera attempting to break the glass at a Millard store. "Initially I wasn't sure you know what happened, what caused it. I wasn't sure if it was gunshots or rocks or what might be the case and we all have families here, if we're not safe at our work, then where can we be safe so I was just flabbergasted," store manager, Chad Vanalstine said.Police said the crook damaged the front door and window at 42 Degrees Pipes and Tobacco. The store has only been open for a year and half and already crooks have tried breaking in twice."We're a small business. This is our livelihood. We have families, we have kids, we're trying to provide."As a store manager, Chad Vanalstine works hard to keep the store running and customers happy; watching the crook attempt to break in, breaks his heart."When malicious attacks occur on our business that definitely hits home and it's very frustrating."Vanalstine just hopes someone recognizes the man and turns him in, getting one more crook off the street."The sooner we can get this person off the street, the sooner that we can possibly potentially stop this from happening to another business that's working hard every day and trying to support their family just like we are over here."The owner doesn't believe the crook was a customer and he doesn't understand why anyone would target his store. He asks anyone with information to come forward. Police said the man may brag to his friends about what he did.
