OMAHA (KPTM)- "I'll do whatever I have to do to get out of this weather," said Brad Chilton as he waited in line at Eppley Airfield.
He is one of thousands who endured an airport delay. Over 8,000 flights were canceled nation wide because of the bitter cold wind chills.
"I would have had to stay over a night in Las Vegas if I had flown yesterday," said Evan Johnson who has waited 48 hours to get to Los Angeles from Omaha. He plays for the Valencia Flyers Junior hockey team in California.
One passenger got lucky.
"My connecting flight to Chicago was canceled," said Irvin Emory who was on his way to Orlando after spending the holidays in Omaha with his grandchildren and children.
"But the airlines put me on a direct flight to Orlando instead, so it worked out great," said Emory.
