Police Hope Missing Teen's Unique Coat Will Help them Locate Her

BELLEVUE(KPTM)-This afternoon Belleview Chief Mark Elbert addressed questions by the media and released this picture of 16 year-old Michaela Wells, wearing a unique red coat he hopes someone will recognize(pictured). Police are still searching for Wells, but they say at this time they have no evidence she was abducted against her will. However, they're not ruling out the possibility entirely.

Family members say they last saw Wells on Sunday evening when she went outside to take the trash to the curb of her parents' home. She was reported missing on Monday and has been registered with a national missing persons clearinghouse.

She is described as 5'6" tall, 120 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes and was reportedly last seen wearing blue jeans, black slip-on shoes, a black tank top, a teal hoodie sweatshirt and a long red coat. "This long red coat that she had on is fairly unique in its appearance," noted Elbert who urged people to "please take a look at that coat."

According to Wells' family, she's been missing since Sunday night. Police are using a number of methods to try and locate Wells who won the 2013 USA National Ms. Teen Nebraska, including information gathered from her cel phone and X-box gaming system.

Wells' mother is still worried her daughter may be in danger. Fox 42's Leah Uko met with her yesterday to talk about the missing teen:
