Recent Shootings Leave South Omaha Neighbors on Edge

OMAHA (KPTM)- Two people were criticallyinjured in a shooting Monday morning. Police said 22-year-old Stevie Goin and 21-year-old Zach Ricard were shot at anapartment complex near 41st and D.

The crime tape was up all day on Monday. Residents living in the apartmentcomplex had to be escorted by the police department to and from thecommunity. One family even stopped by toapply to live there. But they were turned off by the crime tape.

"I was worried and so was mymom that she might have got shot," Samantha Antillon said. "I thinkit's bad because shootings affect kids cause they can't play outside."The double shooting is the second of itskind in the area recently. Just two weeks ago three people were killed bygunfire just a few blocks away.

"I don't feel safe for mykids. And people are just coming up here shooting people. It's just not right,"Nicole La Vallie said. "I'm looking to move because I heard the littlegirl was in the house when it happened. That's not right."
