Severe Weather Alert: Omaha Area Could See Damaging Winds, Hail Sunday Afternoon
OMAHA (KPTM) - Heavy rain, thunder, and some lightning passed through Omaha Sunday morning. The National Weather Service in Valley says there is another threat for very severe weather, including tornadoes Sunday afternoon.At about 1 p.m., a powerful storm moved through Odessa, Missouri, tearing off roofs and flipping semi-trucks on Interstate 70.The highest likelihood for tornadoes are east and west of the Omaha Metropolitan Area, mainly west of Fremont and east of Cass County, Iowa.Sunday morning's storms also brought golf ball sized hail in the Kansas City area. Storms throughout the entire area are expected to have hail and damaging winds.
