OMAHA (KPTM)- "It threw me for a loop," said Ray Hubbard of Omaha.
He blames slick roads for his crash into a light pole in West Omaha on Wednesday.
"These corners are treacherous, I know the city is doing a good job of clearing the streets, but the ice is there," said Hubbard.
"You want to anticipate that you will be driving in icy conditions," said Beverly Reicks of the National Safety Council, Nebraska.
"We all need to take a moment to prepare before we embark on a journey. Make sure you have plenty of washer fluid and use common sense," said Reicks.
The Council warns to be careful as the weather gets warmer. The ice on roads will melt and later it will re-freeze, making roads deceptively dangerous.
