Students Camp Out Overnight To Raise Homeless Awareness
OMAHA (KPTM)- "It's cold, but it will make it interesting, it's supposed to snow Friday," said Tanner Wosslager of UNO's Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
They started Monday and will continue around the clock until Friday at the Crossroads Mall parking lot in Omaha.
"We are raising awareness for homelessness and collecting food items for the Salvation Army food pantry," said Wosslager.
It's called "Just Can it," and it's the eleventh year that the fraternity has taken the lead on the effort which also includes some businesses and the Omaha Fire Department. They are hoping to collect 47,000 food items.
