OMAHA (KPTM) - Eight Omaha area high school students received the honor of a lifetime Wednesday afternoon in front of their friends and family.
The students were recognized for earning perfect ACT or SAT scores. One graduating senior from Central High School even aced both college readiness exams.
Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman was on hand to congratulate the scholars. All of them now getting ready to take on the challenges of college.
"I would attribute most of my success not to any test prep, but just to building up skills over the years," said senior Marika Svolos.
ACT officials say more than 1.5 million students take the exam each year with only about one in 1,000 achieving a perfect score.
