OMAHA (KPTM) - Friends of a 9-year-old battling acute myeloid leukemia are reaching out to her favorite singer-song writer. Taylor Swift.
As Lauren Hacker endures a fast growing form of bone marrow cancer, classmates are working outside of the classroom imploring the country star through song to visit their friend.
"We kind of knew it wasn't going to be easy," said Ellie Muligan.
"Kind of about getting something that may not look achievable," said Lauren Kubat, "but it's possible."
The students have made a YouTube featuring their plea, hoping that social media will be enough.
"There are so many people that are even farther out there, from a different state," said Sydney Monahan, "just found out about her, and they'll be commenting and sharing their love and support for her."
For now the class waits hoping Taylor Swift has no trouble finding the video; and when she does that she'll make one of Lauren's dreams come true.
"She's going to need to know that someone is going to be there for her," said Ellie.
"So why can't you see come see Lauren Please."
