Thief Steals Surveillance Cameras From Omaha Laundromat

OMAHA (kptm) - Omaha police are asking for your help identifying the man who burglarized a midtown laundromat in broad daylight.
In this week's Caught On Camera, Fox 42 News and Crime Stoppers are working together to catch a thief.
Omaha police said the crook entered the laundromat carrying a green detergent bottle with a yellow cap, but they say he didn't use the detergent to wash his clothes, instead he cut the wires on the surveillance cameras.
"They were clipped, like they clipped them and just took them off the mounts. I'm like really? Did they do that?"
Omaha police investigators are looking for the man in this photo.
After walking into Midtown Laundry near 38th and Leavenworth, he checks out the Laundromat, even stops at a vending machine, but instead of starting a load of dirty laundry, he goes for the cameras, something those who work there just don't get. "Do something better. I mean these things cost money. If they're stolen, my boss has to spend more money just to get new ones. I mean there are jobs out there. I'm pretty sure you can get a job or you can do something else to get money besides steal or rob or whatever you're doing, I mean it doesn't make sense," Samuel Santos said.
He said in the past, the change machine has been targeted, as well as the vending machine but the crook didn't touch either one. "If you know who did it call the cops or say something. I mean that doesn't make any sense why steal a camera? I mean that doesn't even make sense to me," Santos said.
Omaha police said the crook left his prop, the detergent bottle, outside in the parking lot.
Police investigators said they booked the detergent bottle as evidence, however they have not yet identified the crook from the fingerprints.
