Warm Weather Helping Local Businesses
CARTER LAKE, IA (KPTM) - With temperatures soaring over 60degrees on Friday, we might finally be able to say spring is here and thatmaking people who cash in on good weather very happy. Outdoor businesses areready to get back to work.
One of those businesses is Shoreline Golf Course in CarterLake, Iowa. It has witnessed one of the worst winters ever. It is a differentpicture then what it was one year ago; March 2012 was the best.
Brandon Dougherty, Shoreline General Manager said, "We havehad people stopping by when we have had snow on the ground just asking whenthey thought we would get open."
Friday the golf course was packed with golfers hitting golfballs for the first time in 2013. The course was booked between 10 am and 2 pm.
Christy Crème in Council Bluffs is also seeing an increasein business. After closing down during the winter months, the ice cream shopstarted to get busier once the weather started warming up on Thursday.
Owner David Christiansen said, "If the sun is shining then people are in themood for ice cream."
