COUNCIL BLUFFS (KPTM) - A mother and her 19-month-old were shot at a Council Bluffs apartment early Tuesday morning.
Police say 22-year-old Heather Wilson was putting her child into a car at about 6am, when someone walked up and fired about a dozen shots. Wilson was hit several times. Her son, Tyson, was hit in the arm. Police say her 4- year-old daughter was also in the car, unharmed.
Police arrested Ronald Farr Jr. for attempted murder shortly afterward. He was found at a house in Harlan, Iowa and charged with attempted murder.
Friends of Wilson say Wilson's boyfriend and Farr are friends. They say Farr was looking for Wilson's boyfriend in the moments leading up to the shooting.
Friends of Wilson's say her boyfriend was inside sleeping when the shooting happened. They say Wilson threatened to call the cops if Farr didn't leave. That's when they say he opened fire.
Wilson went to an Omaha hospital. A family friend told Fox 42 they are expected to be okay.
