Sen. Thom Tillis 'doing great' after brief hospitalization for seizure at charity race
WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) - After a brief visit to the hospital Wednesday morning, Sen. Thom Tillis (R- N.C.) said he's "doing great."
He was rushed to get help after suffering a seizure during D.C.'s annual ACLI Capital Challenge three-mile race.
The junior senator from North Carolina was taken willingly by private ambulance to George Washington University Hospital out of an abundance of caution.
Speaking to Sinclair Broadcast Group, Tillis said "I'm a 57-year-old man trying to always punch above my weight."
Tillis tweeted from his hospital bed Wednesday assuring people he was fine, and had simply "overheated" about 2.5 miles into the race.
"See you back on the Hill," he said.
