Bird knocks out power in parts of the metro on Thanksgiving Day
OMAHA,Neb(FOX42KPTM)- UPDATE: Power was restored around 11:15 a.m.
According to OPPD, a large bird flew into a substation causing damage and a power outage on two circuits around 9:45 a.m.
The power outage has impacted 1,793 Sarpy County customers and 937 in Douglas County in the Ralston and La Vista areas. The boundaries include 64th and 84th Streets, Cornhusker to Edgewood and Burlington Road.
Crews are currently working to restore power. They're hoping to have power back on around noon.
