CB traffic stop uncovers 67 pounds of meth in man's car
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (FOX42KPTM) —
A man is now behind bars after a traffic stop in Council Bluffs Wednesday.
Juan Beteme Amezquita, 42, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute more than 67 pounds of meth, according to United States Attorney Kevin E. VanderSchel.
Beteme will be required to serve three years of supervised release once released.
The charge resulted from an investigation stemming from a traffic stop that occurred in Council Bluffs, where the Meth was found in a trailer pulled by Beteme.
VanderSchel said the meth was hidden in a newly purchased freezer and wrapped in plastic.
Beteme admitted to picking up the meth in Los Angeles, California, and planning to deliver it in Minnesota, VanderSchel said.
