Council Bluffs boy battling brain cancer is 'hero for a day' at College World Series
OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
Weaving in and out of the crowds, little Jackson Tijerina pretty much got to do whatever he wanted.
The seven year old from Council Bluffs is battling a brain tumor, yet he still manages to bring joy to the people around him.
Jackson was nominated and won the "hero" title at Baseball Village Wednesday.
"He's super excited about this whole thing," said Jackson's mom Amy Tijerina. "He loves meeting people and getting attention like any seven year old would. And he's just now starting to feel better. It's fun to just watch him be a normal kid for a while."
He's a normal kid, and at the same time a hero.
It's a title that comes with perks like tickets to a CWS game, and a free baseball glove.
It's just a few small ways to bring joy to a boy who's been through so much.
