Dog Rescue Group Bringing 18 Golden Retrievers to the US from Turkey

A group that rescues dogs is awaiting the arrival of 18 golden retrievers from Turkey.

Golden Retriever Rescue in Nebraska says it's working with other groups in the Midwest to fly the dogs to the United States. Five of the dogs will be given to foster families in Nebraska.

The group says that there are several homeless dogs in Turkey and that golden retrievers have trouble surviving on the streets since they're not pack dogs and are gentle in nature.

The dogs will also get veterinary care once they're brought to Nebraska. The dogs will arrive in Chicago in the next few days and from there the group will bring five of the dogs to Omaha.
