Downtown Marriott opens doors to first guest
OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
The new downtown Marriott is now open. It ushered in its first guest Wednesday morning.
Joe Vlock was the first registered guest through the doors.
As the first, Vlock received a free night’s stay for the next five years.
Friends and family are coming in from out of town for a wedding.
Vlock said, “I know they're thinking, ‘Oh, my gosh! We're coming into cow country!’ and they are going to be pleasantly surprised to see what Omaha has to offer."
This is the first building to open in Omaha’s Capitol District.
The new Marriott is 12 stories, has more than 330 rooms and an outdoor pool.
