Emergency alerts help Papillion police arrest man accused of stealing jewelry, a car
PAPILLION, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
UPDATE: Police have identified the man as Nathaniel Jonathan Dixon, 31. He was charged with burglary and 2 counts of theft.
After sending out an emergency alert, police have arrested a 31-year-old man they say stole thousands of dollars in property.
At around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, police say residents saw a "suspicious" man who matched a notification police sent out Wednesday night.
Officers made contact with the 31-year-old man near 84th Street and Giles Road, and after a short investigation, arrested the man for involvement in an incident Wednesday evening.
Police say the man was the subject of an extensive manhunt while being suspected of committing a burglary at a home and running from officers Wednesday evening.
His name is being withheld pending further investigation.
With help from Bellevue and La Vista Police and the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office, the man was taken into custody.
Police say they recovered several thousand dollars in jewelry and other property, including a stolen car.
