Fallen veteran’s family preserves memory through golf tourney, scholarship fund
OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
The family of a young veteran who died has found a way to preserve his legacy and help someone else along the way.
This is the second year for the annual Tyler Andersen Memorial Golf Tournament.
This year, it will be at the Stone Creek Golf Course.
The cost will include green fees. Cart rental and a meal as well as raffle items.
All proceeds from the event will go toward a scholarship fund and preserve the memory of Tyler Andersen.
"It’s been really helpful to all of us to be involved in this,” said Colin Andersen, who helped organize the golf tournament. “It doesn't bring us back but it helps his legacy live on and it lives on in us because he really did have a caring heart."
There are still a few open slots if you would like to sign up to play in this tournament. More information is available at www.tylerandersenmemorial.org.
