Hip hop helping students learn
State testing hits Druid Hill Elementary next week and to prepare the faculty did things a little different than usual.
The Culture Shock School Tour is a group that aims to teach kids the positive aspects of hip hop culture and then put that principle with learning.
Principal Charice Williams said activities like these are great for the students.
At Wednesday's tour one student even won a bike for having good grades.
The tour Wednesday was done to not only get the students ready and excited for testing but to also show them another side of the culture so many kids are apart of.
The Culture Shock School Tour has two other tours scheduled for Thursday and Friday, something leader Houston Alexander said has never been done before.
