Millard high school renamed for former superintendent
OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
A Millard high school now has a new name that will honor someone who's worked there a long time.
Keith Lutz Horizon High school officially got its new name Sunday afternoon.
It was named after Lutz because of his 40 years of work in education.
Half of that time he was the superintendent of Millard Public Schools.
Lutz says the dedication means a lot to him.
"To have a structure named after you, if you look at all the names that schools are named after in Millard, it's quite an elite group. So it's a very humbling experience and it's really a privilege," Lutz said.
It was originally called “Horizon High School” and cost $9 million to open in 2010.
