Ice rink opens downtown to help local food banks
OMAHA, Neb. —
An ice rink in downtown Omaha is now open and it all helps local food banks.
A portion of every skate rental will go towards the 11th annual "shine the light on hunger" campaign.
With the help of the community, the campaign goal is to provide almost one and a half million meals to needy families.
Conagra Brands Foundation sponsors the campaign.
"It's a great way for the community to not only have some fun but support our local food bank efforts," said Tracy Schaefer of Conagra Brands.
The ice rink will be open from now until Feb. 14.
Conagra Brands Foundation will match skate rental donations up to $100,000 for the campaign.
