OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
The Kansas City Chiefs are now getting ready for their home opener.
To celebrate, they came to Omaha to help the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands.
The annual Red Friday event is designed to get fans excited about the season. Tuesday, they had a kickoff event.
Chiefs Kingdom flags will be sold this Friday at all Hy-Vee gas locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs.
All proceeds from the flags will go to the Boys and Girls Club.
"It gives them something to do that they normally wouldn't be able to do, and then it provides good funding for our program,” said Ivan Gilwreath, CEO of Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands. “So overall it's a win-win for the kids and for the chiefs and for Hy-Vee, everybody wins on this deal."
Chiefs cheerleaders, former lineman Chris Bober and KC Wolf signed autographs for the children.
