Local home care group sheds light on Alzheimer's disease
OMAHA -- With the recent passing of country music star Glen Campbell nurses in the area are now helping people understand what Alzheimer's disease is all about.
A local home care group held an informational session on the disease Wednesday.
Staff members there gave out pamphlets and other helpful tips on how to cope with Alzheimer's.
"We would suggest that right from the beginning that they would start at least introducing a caregiver, so that the family member gets used to have someone around before they're so confused it scares them," said Synergy Home Care staffer Mindy Bratsburg.
If you would like to help in finding a cure for Alzheimer's. you can start a team for the 'Alzheimer's walk" at Turner Park.
That'll be on Sunday, September 24th; registration begins at 10:30 a.m.
