Local preschoolers try their hand at Olympic sports
OMAHA, Neb. —
The metro has some Olympics of its own the little Olympians of the Primrose School of Legacy were getting a flavor of what Olympic sports are all about.
Dozens of preschool and kindergarten students were finding out a little of what it takes to get some Olympic gold.
The kids tried their hands at hockey, curling and other age-appropriate games.
For many, this type of play gives the kids an opportunity to learn sportsmanship and many other skills.
"These are brand new games for these students, so these kids have never played these games, teaching following directions and learning the skills for each game," said Morgan Mills of Primrose School.
The kids also had an opening ceremony led by torchbearers.
