Local real estate agents help Texas homeowners clean up after Harvey
OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
It was supposed to be a training mission but turned into a helping one instead.
Local real estate agents with Keller Williams just got back from San Antonio.
That's where the nationwide training for the company happens every year, but then Harvey came, so instead of learning new real estate techniques, they helped people with cleaning techniques.
People who were hit the hardest emptied out their homes, and the agents moved in to clean things up.
"It was like a war zone it was such a contrast it looked so normal on the freeways but you get off into the neighborhoods and every belonging a person would have in the house would be out on the street on the curbside," said Keller Williams employee Bud Thomsen.
The crew got together Monday to reflect on their trips and what they learned? One of the biggest – Texas still needs a lot of help.
