A Council Bluffs man is in critical condition after an accident Friday afternoon.

At around 2:15 p.m., police responded to a crash involving a motorcycle near 124th Street and West Center Road.

Their investigation revealed that 53-year-old Thomas Thacker was heading eastbound on West Center Road started losing control of his motorcycle.

Police say the motorcycle weaved back and forth in its lane before crossing the raised concrete median.

Officials say it then crossed into oncoming westbound traffic before coming to rest on the north side of the 124th Street intersection.

Omaha Fire Department medics took Thacker to Nebraska Medicine with life-saving measures in progress.

Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash.

Thacker was wearing a DOT helmet at the time of the crash, and hospital officials say he is in critical condition.

West Center Road was closed westbound from 122nd Avenue to 125th Street until around 3:15 p.m.

This crash remains under investigation.
