NE Humane Society, PetSmart offer free cat adoptions through Sunday
OMAHA, Neb. —
The Nebraska Humane Society and metro area PetSmarts are waiving adoption fees on adult cats through Sunday.
The humane society says it took in 192 cats from Saturday through Monday and wants to make sure there is room for those that will continue to come in.
- Small kittens are normal priced.
- Cats 6 months to 1 year are $50.
- Cats 1 year and older are free. Note that people will still need to pay for licensing if they live in Douglas and Sarpy counties.
All cats are spayed/neutered, have microchips, initial vaccinations and rabies shots.
The humane society says, remember, when you adopt you save two lives, the cat you adopt and the cat who can take his kennel.
Fun fact: A group of cats is called a clowder. A group of kittens is called a Kindle. "Help us uncrowd our clowder and unclutter our kindle!" the humane society said.
