North High School receives donation for to upgrade greenhouse and build memorial

On Monday afternoon, North High School received a donation.

Recyclebank presented a check for $2,500.

The money will go towards upgrading the schools greenhouse and create a memorial garden to honor former teacher Michele Ricard.

Many will tell you that greenhouse and green space plays an important role in the student's education.

"Kids learn how to grow their own food how to produce food for themselves and they can take that skill and use it the rest of their lives they can know how to care for plants but also how to feed themselves," said North High science teacher Marianne Laski.

It is still being worked out just how the money will be used, but one possibility could be the planting of fruit trees or even the installation of solar panels.
