NSP brings in 50 pound marijuana haul on I-80 traffic stop


NORTH PLATTE, Neb (FOX 42 KPTM)-- Nebraska State Patrol troopers seized close to 50 pounds of marijuana after stopping a car for a headlight violation.

Troopers pulled the driver over near Cozad on I-80 Wednesday, November 8th.

The trooper said they could smell marijuana coming from inside the truck, so they searched it. Investigators say they found 48 pounds of marijuana hidden under sheet of plywood in the bed of the truck.

They say they also found more than one ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia behind the driver's seat.

Curtis Dewayne Dixon, 60, of California, was charged with Possession of more than one pound of Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Drug Tax Stamp, and a violation for improper vehicle lighting.
