Omaha approved for more growth
Tuesday Omaha City Council approved the rezoning development in Midtown.
Saddle Creek Road and Pacific Street is an older neighborhood with less than aesthetically appealing homes.
This multimillion dollar development was approved by all seven members of the council.
Several opponents of the development spoke at the open meeting.
One man said the rent was too high and few people would be able to afford the townhomes and apartments.
Another argued the homes on Pacific Street should stay where they are because they are too modest.
The estimated total cost is over 4 million dollars.
