Omaha man sentenced to 18 months in prison for possession of child pornography
OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
An Omaha man was sentenced in a local federal court for possessing child pornography, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday.
Rodney G. Hiner, 59, was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment.
Upon his release from prison, Hiner will begin a five-year term of supervised release and be required to register as a sex offender.
On July 7, 2016, officers with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI Cyber Crimes Task Force searched Hiner’s home in Omaha.
The DOJ says Hiner's cell phone contained more than 125 images of child pornography, most of which depicted children between the ages of 2 and 13 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
