OPD replaces 18-year-old mobile command center

It can hold 10 to 15 officers comfortably, while the old one could only hold eight to 10 officers.

The Omaha Police Department now has a brand new mobile command center.

This command center will serve the police department's needs during big events like the College World Series and the national swimming trials.

It can hold 10 to 15 officers comfortably, while the old one could only hold eight to 10 officers.

Jay Leavitt of the OPD said, "It's mostly an upgrade in technology and space. Our old mobile command center was smaller both in height and in width. Our new one has slide outs that are able to give us more room on the inside to be able to have more command on scene to be able to run an event."

The old mobile command center was 18 years old.
