People in Blair brace for blizzard-like conditions as Omahans wait
OMAHA, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
A mixed bag of winter weather is rolling in, and Fred Cappellano is a man on a mission.
"We just happened to be out and I thought you never know, let's go get a few things," said Cappellano.
He lives in Blair, an area where the National Weather Service expects blizzard like conditions, but some people are skeptical.
"I think it's too warm to have a blizzard," said one Walmart shopper. Another said, "most people are going to go ahead and stock up anyway probably."
40 miles south in Sarpy County, officials say it's a waiting game.
"If it looks like we're going to be getting snow in a specific time, we will certainly will listen to every weather report we can get, then the crews will be in an hour ahead of time and they'll be out doing the arterials just as quickly as possible," said Sarpy County engineer Denny Wilson.
