People in Valley clean up after storm
VALLEY, Neb. (FOX42KPTM) —
Cleaning up the damage is what people in Valley did on Wednesday, just one day after strong winds and rain brought down a lot of trees and tree branches.
"It was a little scary there for a second," said Kenny Stimson.
A Cottonwood tree fell down in the storm, taking out a fence and a street light.
"I was sitting on the front porch watching the storm, and the tree just started going," Stimson said.
People who live in the area where one massive tree came down say they're just thankful no one got hurt.
"That took a pretty big wind to do that,” one man said.
Just down the street is another uprooted tree. This one was leaning on a garage.
"I'm going to get someone to pull it off the house and put it on the ground.”
There were many more trees down in the area.
One split and hit the corner of a house.
Another fell and just missed the home right next to it.
"It scared us, especially when the wind came through," a local woman said.
Shawn McDonough, “What you gotta hope for is that this doesn't happen again right away, because last time we got two or three big storms in a row."
When the next storm does hit. People we spoke to said they will be ready.
