Power outages down to 8,000 homes from Friday's storm
OMAHA -- The Omaha Public Power District says there's still 8,023 homes without power from Friday's severe storm. These numbers were last updated Monday at 9 a.m.
OPPD officials say the peak outage was 76,500 homes after two tornadoes touched down in the Bellevue area.
More than 400 workers, both OPPD and mutual aid crews, are completing repairs to bring power back to those who remain out. Officials say many problems require door to door fixes, which can be slow and tedious.
OPPD officials say a small number may be without power until Wednesday as repairs to the distribution system will take some time.
