Project Pink'd provides Thanksgiving meals to 150 breast cancer survivors
BELLEVUE, Neb. —
Local breast cancer survivors got a head start to the Thanksgiving celebration.
The group Project Pink'd hosted a meal for 150 people at Nebraska Medicine in Bellevue.
The survivors shared their stories and offered encouragement to others.
They shared many laughs and hugs.
"Twenty-five years is a long time to survive and a lot of these women are in their first year," said breast cancer survivor Kriss Kriglstein. "They are in their stages of treatments and questions. It's important to be able to show them this is what it is later."
After the event, each guest took home a complimentary Thanksgiving meal to enjoy with their families.
