Red beats white in annual Nebraska Spring Game

LINCOLN, Ne (FOX42KPTM) - More than 78,000 people at Lincoln's Memorial Stadium finally got to watch a Nebraska football game again. It was the first time since the postseason last December the Huskers played a game.

In the annual Red-White Spring Game, the red squad routed the white squad by the final score of 55-7.

In the first half, white scored the first touchdown of the game when quarterback Tristan Gebbia scampered into the end zone from about five yards out, but it was all red from there.

With the combination of running back Devine Ozigbo, wide receiver JD Spielman and quarterbacks Patrick O'Brien and Tanner Lee, the red squad scored 49 unanswered points to win by the final margin.

It's still not clear at this point who the starting quarterback will be for Nebraska at the beginning of this upcoming season. Head Coach Mike Riley wouldn't offer an answer after Saturday's game.

Big Red's first game of the fall will take place at home against Arkansas State. That game is scheduled for September 2nd.
