A Creighton student was killed in a crash on Monday, August 21, 2017

OMAHA, Neb (FOX 42 KPTM)-- Omaha police have arrested the driver of the semi in the August 21st crash on I-80 that killed a Creighton student and left five others seriously hurt.

The Douglas County Attorney's Office charged Robert Richmond with Misdemeanor Motor Vehicle Homicide.

Omaha police say he is not likely to be booked since it's a misdemeanor.

On August 21st, prosecutors say Richmond was driving a semi on I-80 just west of the 84th street underpass.

They say he didn't see traffic slowing in front of him and rear-ended the Toyota Prius. Joan R. Ocambo-Yambing was in the back seat. She died there.

The truck then ran into the back of a blue Chrysler Sebring and landed on top of it.
