Some robberies connected in string around metro, police say
OMAHA, Neb (FOX 42 KPTM)-- Omaha police say a number of armed robberies committed in the last three weeks are connected.
Officers revealed the new information in a press conference at Omaha Police Headquarters Friday afternoon.
Officers say they are looking for two people involved in a series of four overnight gas station robberies. They would not say which robberies are connected or what exactly connects them.
Police also say they're looking for another man tied to an attempted robbery and a robbery from Wednesday October, 4th in South Omaha.
Police released videos of those robberies Friday. In them you see a man in a blue hoodie walk and gray sweats walk into the store and up to the counter.
Officers say he hit the Kwik Shop on 32nd and Q then went to the Bucky's on 40th and Dodge an hour later.
If you recognize the man, you're asked to call Crimestopper at 402-444-STOP.
Police say they're doing what they can to keep these from happening.
They also say there are actually fewer robberies this year than in 2016 overall, but say the number of robberies are up for the time period.
Between September 14th and October 5th this year, there were 16 robberies. There were only six in the same time period last year.
